5. Does the outcome of surgery differ according to the stage of cataract severity?


No. During cataract surgery the opaque lens is completely removed (except for the lining, which is the sac that it was contained in), and it is of no importance if the cataract was at an early stage or it was advanced.

Mature or hypermature cataracts  are more susceptible to complications during surgery.

Therefore, a doctor’s experience and technique plays a major role in order to eliminate such undesirable incidences.
