On Wednesday, 22/2/12, a lecture on "Femtosecond Laser” was delivered by the ophthalmologist Panagiotis Zafeirakis at the library of the Athens Eye Hospital.

This new technology and its applications, such as the placing of intracorneal rings, the creation of a flap in LASIK refractive surgery, the correction of presbyopia with the INTRACOR technique, and the correction of astigmatism with astigmatic keratotomy, as well as its use during cornea transplantations and, finally, cataract surgery with femtosecond laser, were all analyzed during this lecture.

Many ophthalmologists collaborating with the hospital, as well as many medical residents, attended the lecture.
