On Wednesday, 8/2/2012, a lecture was given by the invited ophthalmologist, Dimitrios Kyroudis, on "The Biomechanical Properties on the Cornea”, at the library of the Athens Eye Hospital.

Special biomechanical properties, the structure of the cornea and the changes they undergo in laser refractive surgery were analyzed during the lecture.

Finally, an analysis was made on the technology that studies these properties (Ocular Responce Analyser) and the latest technology (CORBIS), which is shortly expected to provide further information about the reaction of the cornea in various disorders (e.g. keratoconus) and procedures.

The lecture was attended by multiple ophthalmologists and residents.
